President Obama throws up the U!
On Thursday, February 23, 2012, President Barack Obama visited the University of Miami to give a speech inspiring the country to support the development of American-made energy. Upon entering the BankUnited Center Fieldhouse, the President threw up the “U” and received a standing ovation from University of Miami students and faculty.

Former University of Miami Hurricanes outfielder Jon Jay became the third former Cane to win a World Series title in the last two years as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Texas Rangers in Game Seven of the 2011 World Series. Jay joins Pat Burrell and Aubrey Huff who both won the World Series with the San Francisco Giants, whom also defeated the Texas Rangers for the title.

On Tuesday, September 27, Comedy Central’s Daniel Tosh started his popular Tosh.0 show explaining that he went to UCF but Miami paid him more to wear his Ibis shirt and gave him one free future abortion – mocking jailed (former) booster Nevin Shapiro.
In his last segment, he was wearing a #12 UM football jersey. Although Tosh went to UCF, he is a huge Miami sports fan!
